As Pennsylvanians we come together through each of our own traditions. They are nothing fancy, exotic, or spectacular — but they are our own, and I look forward to them every year. This year, we are blessed to have our daughters, Sarah and Katie, as well as Katie’s husband Jamie and their 10-month-old Golden Retriever puppy, at home in York County. They will come in from Brooklyn and San Francisco to spend Christmas with us.Sarah and Katie handle the baking each Christmas. Their Christmas cookies of choice are simple but delicious: classic chocolate chip, of course, and peanut butter with — what else — Hershey’s Kisses on top. On Christmas Eve, our family joins us at our home in Mount Wolf, and the girls and Jamie will exchange their gifts. But they have to wait until the next morning to receive their presents from Tom and me. Tom will turn on Handel’s Messiah, and we will take a look at what Santa brought that night. Later on Christmas Day, we visit Tom’s parents, and continue our celebrations there. While the cookies, the music, and the tree make our holiday bright and cheery, what is most important to me each year is being together.Merry Christmas from all of us in the Wolf family. May your holiday be filled with love, peace, and happiness. BLOG: Wolf-Donnelly Family Christmas Traditionslast_img
